Classic rock icon, and Gainesville’s 2nd favorite son (after Tim Tebow of course!) Tom Petty is busy touring the world with the Heartbreakers on their 40th anniversary tour. One of their recent stops happened across the pond in London, and featured a long-time friend – Stevie Nicks.
With Stevie stopping by, obviously the two needed to recant their 1981 smash hit “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”
And while the performance got some pretty high accolades from publications like the BBC, it wasn’t the first time that the duo have hit the stage together. They also shared a stage in February at the MusiCares Person of the Year event, at which Petty was the guest of honor, making time during a four-hour all-star performance to play “Draggin’” as well as their other duet from the era, “Insider.”
Petty and the Heartbreakers will remain on the road through early fall.
Nicks, meanwhile, has a pair of Fleetwood Mac performances lined up at the Classic East and West festivals later this month, as well as a handful of solo dates scheduled through late September.
